Mount St Michael’s Green Schools Committee have recently launched their Battery Collection campaign in which the whole school community are encouraged to collect old, used batteries and leave them in the blue battery boxes that are set up in classrooms and elsewhere.
WEEE Ireland will do their collection from the school early in the New Year.
There will be a reward for the class with the most batteries at the final count.
Every battery donated creates funding for the Lauralynn Foundation ( Children’s Hospice)
Schools who donate large numbers of batteries will also be in with a chance to win some valuable prizes.
So if anyone has old batteries lying around please send them in with the students over the next few weeks.
