Volleyball
The school’s long tradition of volleyball is immediately evident from the All-Ireland
trophies on display in the school, the photographs of successful teams which adorn the
walls and the 19 All-Ireland medals which decorate the P.E. teacher’s office. Each year
teams compete at all age groups and all standards.
Having won All-Ireland titles at Senior Cadette and Junior level and Division A, B and
C through the years Mount St. Michael’s most successful run to date is in the Senior A
category. The school won the Senior A All-Ireland Finals in 2004, 2005 and 2006, were
runners-up in 2007 and 2008 and captured gold again in 2009.
Many pupils have gone on to train with National Squads and have represented Ireland at
Under 16, Under 19 and Senior level.
